Great Barrier Reef Video Competition – Entry Form

CATEGORIES

CATEGORY 1 – NON-PROFESSIONAL
Duration up to 10 minutes (quality takes priority over quantity).
Can be filmed anywhere in the world with:
a. A significant amount filmed underwater.
b. Or an underwater or conservation theme acceptable to the CUFF board.
c. Music, videos, animation or narratives allowed.

CATEGORY 2 – PROFESSIONAL
Duration up to 20 minutes (quality takes priority over quantity).
Can be filmed anywhere in the world with:
a. A significant amount filmed underwater.
b. Or an underwater or conservation theme acceptable to the CUFF board.
c. Music, videos, animation or narratives allowed.

CATEGORY 3a – RAW TAKES (International)
Duration 5-60 sec (quality takes priority over quantity).
Your best money shots. Definition of a ‘Raw take’ is one continuous shot.
No editing or soundtrack or narration required. Native audio maybe included.
Can be filmed anywhere in the world with:
a. A significant amount filmed underwater.
b. Or an underwater or conservation theme acceptable to the CUFF board.

CATEGORY 3b – RAW TAKES (Australia)
Duration 5-60 sec (quality takes priority over quantity).
Your best money shots. Definition of a ‘Raw take’ is one continuous shot.
No editing or soundtrack or narration required. Native audio maybe included.
Can be filmed anywhere in Australia with:
a. A significant amount filmed underwater.
b. Or an underwater or conservation theme acceptable to the CUFF board.

DONATION CATEGORY – OPEN
Duration Open
Category open to both professional and amateur film-makers who wish to donate their film to the festival i.e. no registration fee or prizes apply to this category. This is for a one off use at the Cairns Underwater Film Festival, except for promotional purposes.

VIDEO COMPETITION TERMS AND CONDITIONS

VIDEO COMPETITION TERMS AND CONDITIONS
1. Competition is open to underwater filmmakers of all ages, both amateur and professional. (An amateur filmmaker is a person who does not derive an income from producing films.)
2. Music must be copyright-right free or written music copyright permission must be provided for all music that is NOT copyright-free.
3. If your film contains a non-English narrative, please provide a subtitled version.
4. Due to time constraints on evening, only winning entries may be shown
5. By submitting your film to the Cairns Underwater Film Festival you agree the Cairns Underwater Film Festival can reproduce any part of your film to promote the Cairns Underwater Film Festival.
SUBMISSION FORMAT
Please convert your film to MP4- (H264 compression) or similar, either 1920 x 1080i, 1440 x 1080i or 1280 x 720p, (25 or 30 frames)

1 Registration and entry fees are accepted between 23rd April and 23rd July 2014,
through our website http//:www.cairnsunderwaterfilmfestival.com
2. Registration fee for Category 1 and 2 is AUD$45, you may enter up to 2 films.
3. Registration fee for Category 3 is $10 per raw take.
4. Once payment is complete you will receive a ‘confirmation of registration’ email.
The preferred method of entry is electronic. Please send a link to your uploaded file to: stuart@calypso.tv
If this method is not possible due to lack of a proper internet connection, you will be able to submit images on USB to ‘CUFF Film Entries’ PO Box 1522 Cairns Queensland 4870 Australia.
